What AI music production is

AI music production at Exsale means original music and score made for one film. AI music models generate the takes. A person chooses between them, edits the chosen take to the picture and mixes it with the voice and effects.

The model makes sound. It doesn't decide where the music should build, where it should drop out to let a line land, or how the last note meets the end card. Those are directing calls, made against the cut.

Why not a stock track

A stock track is written for no film in particular. It builds when it builds, so the editor either cuts the picture to fit the music or fades it out early. The same track can also turn up under another brand's ad.

Music made for your film starts from the cut. The tempo comes from the pace of the edit. The changes are placed on the cuts that matter: the reveal, the product shot, the turn from problem to answer. The instruments are chosen for the brand, so a skincare film and a legal spot don't end up with the same piano and strings.

From brief to final take

It starts with a music brief: the mood in plain words, the tempo, the instruments, tracks you like and what you like about them, and where the voiceover sits. If your edit already has a temp track, send it: it shows the pace the cut was built to. With a locked cut, we time the main changes against it and choose a tempo that lets them fall on the cuts.

We generate takes with AI music models such as Suno and ElevenLabs, and listen to each one against the picture, not on its own. Takes that fight the pace or the tone are dropped there. The shortlist is the few that fit the film.

The chosen take is then edited to the cut. Sections are trimmed, repeated or moved so a build lands on the reveal and the final hit lands on the end card. You hear the result against the film and give notes, and we adjust the edit or go back for new takes.

Made to sit under a voice

Commercials and product films often carry a voiceover, so the music is arranged around it. Busy parts are kept out of the way of the voice, and the mix brings the music down under each line and back up in the gaps.

Every cutdown gets its own music edit. A :15 isn't the :30 with a fade: it's cut again so it starts on a strong beat and ends on a resolved note. A short sting for the logo and end card comes from the same track, so every version of the film ends the same way.

Scored for our films, or for yours

On a film we make, the music is made in the Finish stage of AI video production, next to the sound design, and both are mixed in the same session, so a door slam and a drum hit don't land on the same frame.

Music can also come before the edit: a track made from the script and boards gives the editor a beat to cut to, and the final music edit follows the finished picture.

If your film is already cut, send the picture, with the voiceover and effects as separate files if you have them. We return the music for your mixer, or mix the whole film with our sound design. How long it takes depends on the brief: the running time, the number of cutdowns and how settled the cut is. A schedule and quote follow the first call.

Original. Each track is generated for your film from a brief written for it, then edited to the picture. Nothing comes from a stock music library.

Yes, as direction. Tell us what you like about it: the tempo, the instruments, the way it builds. We brief the new track on those qualities rather than imitating the reference note for note.

Yes. Some films want a song, and some want a score that stays out of the voiceover's way. For a song, we write the lyrics with you, and you approve them before the vocal is made.

Either way. Music can come first, so the edit is cut to its beat, or follow a locked cut and be edited to fit it. The final music edit is always made against the finished picture.

Yes. Send the cut, with the voiceover and effects on separate tracks if you have them. We make the music to that cut, then either send it to your mixer or mix the whole film with our sound design.
