In depth
An AI commercial is a TV, CTV or online spot where AI video models generate the shots in place of a camera crew. The rest is a normal production: a script, a storyboard, a camera plan, an edit, a color grade, music and a final mix. AI commercial production at Exsale keeps every one of those steps and changes only where the pictures come from.
That opens up the shot list. A spot can move from a desert road at dawn to a kitchen counter at night with no location scout, set build or weather day. What it doesn't remove is the directing. Someone still decides what the spot says in :30, which shot carries the product and where the cut lands against the voiceover. Here that's a director, not a prompt, and every frame is approved before it goes in the edit.
A spot rarely runs in one place, so we plan for every screen on your media plan from the brief.
TV and CTV take the 16:9 master, built to the delivery spec from your network or media buyer and mixed to the loudness level it sets. Online, the same master runs as YouTube pre-roll, on your site and on landing pages.
Social gets its own versions: 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 4:5 and 1:1 for feeds. We draw those frames into the storyboard and the previs, so each shot is composed for every size and the vertical version isn't a wide shot with the sides cropped off. On-screen text and the end card are laid out again for each size, clear of the buttons and captions each app puts over the picture.
Drift is the usual giveaway in AI video: a face changes between shots, a label rearranges its letters, a jacket switches color. A commercial can't carry that, because the product is the reason the spot exists.
So consistency is planned before production starts. We build reference sheets for each character, the product and every location: faces from several angles, wardrobe, packaging, logo placement and light. The 3D previs fixes the camera position, lens and move for each shot. Each shot is then generated with the model that fits it and checked against its storyboard frame and the sheets. If anything has moved, it's made again. Small fixes, like a label edge or a stray reflection, are cleaned up in the finish. A shot goes in the cut only when it matches the shots around it.
It starts with a call and a written brief: audience, message, where the spot runs and the deadline. We write the treatment and the script, voiceover included, then draw a storyboard frame for every shot. You approve the script and the boards.
Next is the 3D previs: the whole spot blocked out in Blender with simple shapes, real camera moves and final timing. You watch it against the script and sign it off before a single shot is generated.
Production follows the previs shot by shot. Then the finish: the edit, the color grade, on-screen text and the end card, original music, sound design and a final mix that balances voice, music and effects. Delivery covers every screen on the media plan: the TV, CTV and web masters, the social cutdowns and the ad-testing variants.
How long it takes depends on the brief: the length of the spot, the number of shots, the formats and the variants. A schedule and quote follow the first call.

It can, once the network or station clears it. Each one reviews ads before they run, and that decision is theirs. Our part is the master, made to their delivery spec: frame rate, file format, slate and loudness. Send the spec sheet with the brief, and we'll set up the edit and the mix for it from the first cut.

TV and CTV spots usually run :15 or :30, and :60 when the story needs room. We deliver whichever lengths your media plan calls for. The shorter cuts come from the same shots as the longest one, so every version tells the same story.

Yes. Send them with the brief: logo files, fonts, colors, tone of voice and any rules for showing the product. We build them into the boards and the previs, so you see them applied before anything is generated. The on-screen text, the end card and the grade follow them in the finish.

Both. We can write the script and voiceover from your brief, or take a script you already have and turn it into boards and a shot list. If a line won't play on screen, we'll suggest a change before production and you decide.

A short brief: who the spot is for, the one thing it should say, where it runs and when you need it. Add brand guidelines, product photos and links to spots you like. If you don't have a brief yet, book a call and we'll write one together.
